The Vermont Agency of Transportation, in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration, has prepared an environmental impact statement on transportation improvements from Interstate I-89 to Williston, Essex and Essex Junction. The study took a fresh look at all issues and options, including the southern portion of the previously proposed Chittenden County Circumferential Highway. The Final Environmental Impact Statement was completed in July 2010 with a Record of Decision on a preferred alternative issued in May 2011.
