Public Meetings Held in November on Short List of Alternatives

Public meetings were held in Richmond, Burlington, and Williston on November 15-17, 2005, to present the short-list of alternatives and discuss the analysis which will be done in Step 3 of the EIS process. Approximately 100 people attended the three meetings.

After opening remarks by VTrans project manager Rich Ranaldo, Larry Pesesky of the Louis Berger Group used slides to present each of the three groups of short-listed alternatives: improvements to Route 2A, new roadways in the Circ A/B alignment, and a hybrid group coupling the 2A alternatives with a new roadway from I-89 to Mountain View Road. Questions and comments from those attending the meeting were welcomed throughout the presentation.

There was also discussion about how the many questions and comments received to date will be addressed during that analysis. These items responding to public and agency input comprise only part of the full analysis that will be conducted during the winter of 2005-2006.

See: list of items requested for analysis by the public and cooperating agencies.

There will be public design workshops this winter to present the alternatives as they are being refined and engineered. Public information meetings in the spring will present preliminary findings of the analysis. There will also be technical workshops on the Indirect and Cumulative Impact (ICI) analysis.

All meetings and workshops will be announced on this website, in newspapers, and by mail and email to people on the project mailing list.
